As of January 1st, 2011, you have the opportunity to gain a unique exhibition for your science center/organization!

Till January the 1st, 2010 Techmania will present the most interesting parts of the international children´s exhibition of fine arts called „Lidice. “ The focus of the exhibition for the year 2009 was on the universe.

On Friday, December the 4th 2009 there will be a very special event held in Techmania science center: the first Czech conference focusing on science communication.

TOP SECRET is a new exposition which is going to be introduced during the first anniversary of Techmania, on November 4th. What is it all about? Visitors of every age can learn about science and have fun by exploring subjects as spying, security, forensics, cryptology…

Do you know how big the perimeter of the sun is? Can you guess how long would it take to go around the sun by foot? Well, these and many other questions can easily be answered by our model of the solar system. Let´s meet it between the Mai 25^th and the August 31^st in the streets of Pilsen !

The pilsener Techmania science center was hnoured with a valuable prize. The Czech Tourism agency which works in close co-operation with the Czech Ministry of local development and with the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic announced it on June 17^th in Prague.

After a year of an intensive work the team of Techmania managed to complete the supporting documents for the planed reconstruction of the science center on June 28th

Till the end of the year 2009 we are open for you daily between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. We are going to close only on December the 24th, 25th, and 31st and on January 1st.

Techmania cooperates very closely with other European science centers. Let us mention for example the Flemish Technopolis or Danish Experimentarium. These two important science centers have chosen Techmania to be their partner in promotion of their traveling exhibitions.

On November 4th it is going to be a year since Techmania science center welcomed the first visitor. During this day we are open for you just like any other day, but beside that you can at 3 p.m. attend a very popular “Experiments with doubtful results” and a special show of Dr. Michael Londesborough which starts at 5 p.m.

In the days of October 14th till 17th there was meeting called “International camp of edutainers.” What was it about? The Czech edutainers from Techmania met their colleagues from other science centers.

We offer a new programme for high schools. The students will learn, for example, which form is in the nature the most optimal for constructions, why does the people still attempt to produce an artificial spider string, how is a hoover related to bats, or what were the inspirations for such important inventions like phone or velcro.
